Introduction
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Deploy IQ Ltd ("the Company"), has taken and continues to take to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chain.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking, and forced labour. The Company has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.
Our Business
Deploy IQ Ltd, is a UK-based technology company providing AI-powered conversational chatbot solutions to estate agencies and letting agencies. Our headquarters are located in the United Kingdom.
Our business activities include:
- Development and maintenance of AI chatbot software
- Provision of software-as-a-service (SaaS) to UK estate agencies
- Customer support and account management services
We operate primarily in the United Kingdom and employ a small team of technology and business professionals.
Our Supply Chain
Our supply chain is relatively simple and consists primarily of:
Technology Services: Cloud hosting providers (Amazon Web Services), AI model providers (Anthropic), and payment processors (Stripe). These are established, publicly accountable companies with their own modern slavery policies and compliance programmes.
Professional Services: Legal, accounting, and consulting services from UK-based professional firms.
Office Supplies and Equipment: Standard office equipment and supplies from established UK retailers.
We do not operate in high-risk industries or geographies traditionally associated with modern slavery concerns.
Our Policies
We operate the following policies that contribute to ensuring modern slavery does not occur in our business:
Recruitment Policy: We conduct appropriate right-to-work checks on all employees and ensure that all staff are paid at least the National Living Wage.
Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns related to our activities or supply chain. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of modern slavery.
Code of Conduct: Our code makes clear the actions and behaviour expected of employees when representing the Company.
Due Diligence Processes
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk, we:
- Review the modern slavery statements of our key technology suppliers
- Conduct due diligence on new suppliers before entering into contracts
- Ensure that employment contracts clearly set out terms and conditions
- Pay all employees directly into personal bank accounts
- Maintain transparent records of worker hours and payments
Risk Assessment
We have assessed that our business presents a low risk of modern slavery for the following reasons:
- We operate exclusively in the United Kingdom, a jurisdiction with strong labour protections
- Our workforce consists of skilled technology and business professionals
- Our supply chain is limited to established technology companies and professional services firms
- We do not operate in sectors or geographies associated with high modern slavery risk
- We do not use labour-intensive manufacturing or production processes
Nevertheless, we remain vigilant and committed to monitoring and addressing any risks that may arise.
Training
We ensure that awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking is embedded within our organisation. Key personnel involved in recruitment and procurement are made aware of the signs of modern slavery and the steps to take if concerns arise.
Measuring Effectiveness
We will know the effectiveness of the steps we are taking to ensure that slavery and/or human trafficking is not occurring within our business or supply chain if:
- No reports are received from employees, the public, or law enforcement to indicate that modern slavery practices have been identified
- Our suppliers continue to demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards
- Our recruitment and employment practices remain compliant with UK employment law
